On a chilly afternoon in early January, just past the new year, I walked with Jeff Haber and Adrian Moens around Jamaica, Queens.

Haber’s short story, “Nobody in a Land of Dripping Green,” appears within Issue No. 5 - Autumn 2018. And at the time of our walk this past January, he was keeping a writing studio in Jamaica. “Having this place has given me peace of mind, at the very least. I feel like it has improved my writing in some ways, or at least my commitment to writing regularly. I’m not too social, so it’s good for me to have somewhere to go where I can sit with my thoughts as I would at home, but be totally focused on those thoughts.”

Although the rain fell on and off that day, at least over the split second in which Adrian took the photograph above, the clouds hovered over the street in striking distance, but stayed at bay.
